The bill for the new semi-regulated market of the ASE

According to Greek newspaper Kathimerini (27.1.2007), the bill on the new semi-regulated market of the ASE is expected to be introduced to the Greek Parliament in February. This new market will enable small and medium-sized companies to gain access to the stock market. Similar markets operate within the LSE (AIM) and the Euronext (Alternext). The company must have a two-year track record of existence and have a listing sponsor (a bank or investment services company), that will guarantee that the listed company will fulfil its obligations for the initial listing and thereafter and will also act as market maker. The free float requirement will be low and a public offer will be required in the case of a float exceeding 2.5M euros.
