Synapsis was founded by Yiannis Empeoglou and Alexandra Nikolitsa.
Yiannis
Empeoglou became in 2006 the first Greek Certified Business Intermediary
(CBI). The CBI designation is the highest designation in the business
brokerage industry, awarded by the International
Business Brokers Association. The IBBA awards the CBI designation to
members who demonstrate professional excellence through their broker
experience and education, and pass a comprehensive examination. Yiannis
is an IBBA member since 2005. Yiannis Empeoglou has worked for 15 years
in the financial services sector, engaged in the field of asset management
and has the expertise required in the analysis of business strategies and
in performing business valuations. In the meantime, he has gained significant
experience in the sale of small and medium-sized businesses acting as
the investor-strategic buyer on behalf of the Collective Investment Organizations
he was working for. He has worked for the largest houses of financial
services of the private sector in Greece (Ergobank, The Greek Progress Fund,
Alpha Investments, N.D. Devletoglou) and prior to establishing Synapsis he
resigned from the position of Deputy General Manager of EFG MFMC. He was
born in Athens in 1965. He is an economist and obtained both his graduate
degree (B.A. in Economics) and his postgraduate degree (M.A. in Financial
and Business Economics) from the University of Essex (U.K.).
